Help with Energy Costs

If you’re struggling to pay your energy bills or just want to pay less, there are lots of things you can do to save money, from making sure you are paying the lowest price to taking steps to reduce the amount you use.

Contact Citizens Advice Chiltern to arrange an appointment to discuss this. We can also check that you are getting any extra help you are entitled to.

Chiltern Foodbank

Please drop in to our Citizens Advice offices in Chesham or Amersham if you are in crisis and you think a food parcel would help.  We can provide a food voucher, which can be exchanged for three days of non-perishable food.

Payday loans  

If it looks too good to be true it probably is. Don’t fall for it…
Getting money at the click of a mouse, sending a text or making a call, is how more and more people are accessing short term loans.   The principle behind these loans is small sums of money are loaned at short notice, with a high interest rate, many at over 100%, and repaid in full on “pay day”. Often credit checks are not undertaken, so people who are unable to pay are taking out easy, but expensive loans.
