Our volunteers and volunteering

We have about 55 volunteers, without whom Chiltern CAB would simply not operate. Every day they do a fantastic job helping local people with their professional advice and knowledge.

The Chiltern CAB is an expanding bureau not only in terms of meeting an ever increasing and changing demand but also in terms of the complementary activities which support the service.

We are always looking to recruit a range of volunteers with different strengths and backgrounds to keep the bureau functioning at the high standard which people living and working in the Chiltern area currently enjoy.

We typically have volunteers who train as generalist or specialist advisers, or those who help with administration, publicity, marketing, campaigning or fundraising whist we have others who have specialist skills in IT, finance and training.  We also have a team of active volunteer trustees.  We are always interested in hearing from anyone who would like to volunteer and thinks they have a skill that would help us in our activity.

Why Volunteer

Volunteering with Chiltern CAB is a great way to pick up skills, make friends and feel part of an enthusiastic team. Last year we helped 6000 people with 17,000 problems. But it’s not just worthwhile, volunteering can also be fantastic fun and hugely rewarding.

Who Volunteers

Our guiding principles are to ‘value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination’. We know that it’s only by having diverse staff and volunteers that we can do these things properly. We are committed to equality of opport unity in recruitment and training, and offer a warm welcome to every volunteer, whatever their background.
