Working with other Citizens Advice Bureaux across England and Wales

There are over 400 Citizens Advice Bureaux across England and Wales, all of which are members of the national Citizens Advice organisation which provides a range of services such as the online self help support guide: Adviceguide.  Citizens Advice supplies the Bureaux with support and IT systems which enables us to offer the high standard of advice for which we are known.  Being part of a national body also gives us the evidence and profile to lobby on behalf of the community and influence national and local campaigns by accessing policy makers and affecting change.

Working with other organisations

We work closely with three other Citizens Advice Bureaux in the Buckinghamshire area  - at High Wycombe, Aylesbury and Buckingham and together have formed the Buckinghamshire Citizens Advice Consortium. This has enabled us to become a more efficient and  effective organisation for the community, and help many more of our local residents.

Other organisations in the local area we also work closely with to support local people; such as Paradigm Housing; the Local Council; Jobcentre Plus; the Chesham Food Bank; other local charitable groups and grant giving organisations.  We are involved in an exciting project, working closely with Surestart to offer preventative help to young families who have money worries. We offer advice to them which enables them to make the most of their money, and help them to understand the support which is available to them.  Financial education is an important part of our preventative work which extends to school children, the elderly and many other vulnerable groups in the community.
